Join a peaceful “Walk in Love” labyrinth experience this Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 1428 H St., Eureka. A labyrinth walk is a simple form of moving meditation. You’ll stroll along a winding path that leads to the center and back. Soft Celtic harp music will add to the calm atmosphere. If you’re new to this, Kathryne DeLorme, a certified facilitator, will guide you. After the walk, enjoy some tea and create labyrinth-themed art. This event is free and open to everyone. This Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m., the Redwood Region Audubon Society will lead a free guided bird-watching trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. Bring your binoculars! Meet trip leader Dan Greaney at the end of South I Street for stunning views of Humboldt Bay and its diverse birdlife.
Also at 2 p.m. on Saturday, you’re invited to a free tour of the Arcata Marsh. Led by Ren Bunce, this 90-minute walk will cover the area’s history and introduce you to the plants and birds you’ll see. If you’re looking for an adventure, join a field trip to Samoa Dunes Recreation Area on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Guided by Ken Burton, you’ll explore various habitats filled with birds. This Sunday, the Trinidad Lions Club will serve pancakes and hold a book sale at Trinidad School from 8 to 11 a.m. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes with eggs, ham, or biscuits and gravy for just $8 for adults and $4 for kids. Donations for the Trinidad Food Pantry are also welcome.
On Sunday at 10 a.m., interested participants can join a “Nature Journaling at the Marsh” session led by naturalist Lynn Jones. No registration is necessary, but only the first 10 people can join. Bring your own paper and a writing tool, and wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather. FOAM will provide clipboards and colored pencils. If it rains heavily, the event will be canceled.
Savor “Wine and Jazz” at the Morris Graves Museum of Art this Sunday at 3 p.m. Enjoy live music by Ponies of Harmony, featuring a mix of jazz, country classics, and original tunes. Museum admission is $5, but children under 17 and some others can enter for free.
Looking for more fun? Attend a dance party at the Moose Lodge on Mondays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $9. If bingo is your game, it’s played every Tuesday at the same Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5 p.m., with games starting at 6 p.m. Every penny made goes back into the community.
