McLaren also had a constructive day, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri sharing driving duties. They completed 124 laps, trying out different race strategies. Performance chief Mark Temple highlighted the team’s continual learning process, saying, “We’re making solid progress and unlocking potential.”
Haas Shows Promise
Haas has quietly impressed this season, showing strong reliability and swift responses to any issues. Team leader Ayao Komatsu mentioned that they learned a lot on Day 1 of testing and have clear ideas on how to improve their car. Both drivers reported positive feedback, indicating a solid place in the midfield, which could put them in a competitive stance.
Cadillac’s Struggles
Car manufacturer Cadillac faced a tougher day, only managing 59 laps due to various issues. Both Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas encountered telemetry and sensor problems, which hampered their performance testing. The team hopes to recover in the remaining days of testing to gather more vital data.
