LOGAN, Utah – In a tough matchup, Boise State fell to Utah State, 75-56. The Broncos, now 15-11 overall and 7-8 in the Mountain West Conference, struggled offensively throughout the game.
Drew Fielder led Boise State with 14 points, along with eight rebounds and two assists. His performance continues to shine; this marks his ninth game leading the team in scoring and his 19th time reaching double figures this season. Dylan Andrews and Dominic Parolin contributed nine points each. Parolin also made four of his five shots and had three rebounds, showing promise as a key player.
Utah State, boasting a 23-3 record and 13-2 in the conference, saw Mason Falslev shine with 17 points. MJ Collins followed with 13 points, while Zach Keller and Adlan Elamin both added 10.
The game started close, with neither team leading by more than two points in the first four minutes. However, a 9-0 run by Boise State gave them a brief lead before Utah State countered with their own 9-0 streak to pull ahead.
The Broncos faced challenges in the first half, managing just one field goal in the last eight minutes, allowing Utah State to close the half strong, leading by seven points at halftime. Boise State shot only 37% from the field and struggled from three-point range.
In the second half, Utah State quickly extended their lead to double digits. Despite scoring 33 points after halftime, Boise State couldn’t catch up, resulting in their second consecutive loss.
Boise State will look to bounce back with two home games, starting Saturday against San Jose State. With Fielder’s rising star and the need for offensive consistency, fans are eager to see how the team will respond.
