Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, recently enjoyed a cup of Bharat GI Coffee at the Bharat GI Coffee Lounge during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. This coffee variety became a standout during the launch of ‘Bharat GI,’ a national initiative aimed at promoting India’s unique products worldwide.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared this exciting moment on X, saying, “When @SundarPichai drops by for a sip, you know it’s truly worth it!” He highlighted the significance of Bharat GI Coffee, inviting the world to discover the richness of India’s offerings at the Summit.
Goyal announced the launch of Bharat GI, managed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This initiative aims to give Geographical Indication (GI) products from India a stronger global presence. It’s designed to celebrate unique regional crafts and traditions and boost the premium impression of these items internationally.
“Dear world, are you ready for something truly exclusive?” Goyal asked, emphasizing that India’s GI products reflect centuries of craftsmanship and unique geography. The initiative starts with Indian GI Coffee, encouraging global audiences to enjoy “Bharat through aroma, flavor, and authenticity.”
The ongoing India AI Impact Expo from February 16 to 21 is another highlight of the Summit, showcasing AI technologies on a large scale. Spanning over 70,000 square meters, the Expo brings together tech companies, startups, and academic institutions from around the world.
With over 300 curated exhibition spaces and live demonstrations, the event focuses on three key themes: People, Planet, and Progress. Additionally, 600 startups are set to showcase real-world AI solutions aimed at improving lives.
Organizers expect around 250,000 visitors, including international delegates. More than 500 sessions and 3,250 speakers will share insights on AI’s effects across various sectors and future developments.
This event not only promotes Indian products like GI Coffee but also emphasizes the global importance of innovation in technology and culture, showcasing how such initiatives can unite people and celebrate diversity.
