Discover Delicious Delights: A Comprehensive Review of Mikey’s Bar & Grill

Remember the classic ’80s sitcom Cheers? Its catchy theme song paints the picture of a friendly bar where everyone knows your name. That’s exactly how I felt at Mikey’s Bar & Grill on Plover Road.

As I entered, outdoor string lights drew me in, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. It was a chilly February evening in Wisconsin, but inside felt cozy and relaxed. It was a place where no one really cared about your outfit or your favorite team. Just come as you are.

The high ceilings and stained glass gave it a unique charm. Although the bar was packed, it never felt cramped. I was excited to unwind and enjoy some good food and company. But, a little hiccup occurred; there was a wait for our drinks. Keep in mind, Mikey’s just opened at a new location, so they might be smoothing out some processes.

If you decide to visit, be patient. The wait for cocktails could be longer than expected.

Now let’s talk drinks. The selection was impressive. My wife chose a bourbon stout, while I tried a house cocktail called the Cranberry & Spruce Mule. I usually stick to beer, but I’m glad I branched out. The ginger beer added a delightful fizz that paired perfectly with the tart cranberry and herbal vodka.

We also ordered onion rings. They were crispy and flavorful but could have used a pinch more salt. The coating was light and crunchy, sticking nicely to the onion.

For dinner, I opted for the bourbon-honey-glazed salmon. Let me tell you, I highly recommend it. The salmon was buttery and seasoned just right. The sweet notes from the bourbon and honey enhanced the fish’s natural flavor beautifully. The green beans and mashed potatoes complemented the meal but didn’t steal the spotlight.

Overall, Mikey’s has a solid foundation and plenty of room for growth. Given its recent opening, I’m excited to see how they develop. There’s a lot on the menu that I would love to try on my next visit.

In recent times, dining has evolved. A survey from the National Restaurant Association shows that 67% of diners are willing to wait longer for quality food. That’s something to keep in mind. Good food often comes with a bit of patience.

As for Mikey’s, I think they’re on the right path. I’ll definitely be back to see how they refine their service and menu.
