Amtrak Adjustments Due to Weather
Amtrak is changing some of its service routes this Monday because of bad weather. If you’re affected, expect a direct notification about any changes or cancellations.

Travel Restrictions in New Jersey
New Jersey has imposed a commercial vehicle ban and set speed limits to 35 mph on several interstates. This is part of the state’s emergency measures. The affected highways include:
- I-76
- I-78
- I-80
- I-195
- I-280
- I-287
- I-295
- I-676
The New Jersey State Police will keep a mandatory travel restriction in place until noon. Most vehicles can’t drive on various roadways in New Jersey, although the Turnpike is an exception.
Exempt from these restrictions are emergency vehicles, public transportation, and utility company vehicles. Health workers and anyone needing urgent care are also allowed to travel.
NJ Transit & PATCO Updates
NJ Transit has suspended all bus, light rail, and Access Link services. They plan to resume operations as conditions improve. For the latest updates, check NJTransit.com or their mobile app.
PATCO is currently running on a snow schedule and trains will operate slower to ensure safety.
Flight Cancellations
On Monday, nearly 5,500 flights in the U.S. have been canceled, with around 600 at Philadelphia International Airport alone. If you’re traveling, check with your airline for the most accurate flight status.
SEPTA Service Changes
All SEPTA bus services are also suspended until further notice, and there are delays expected on some rail services. Some routes are still operational, but users should be prepared for difficulties.
City Services Impacted
Trash and recycling collection will not happen on Monday and Tuesday, pushing back the remainder of the week’s schedule by two days. Residents can still drop off trash at the city’s sanitation centers.
All court cases set for Monday are postponed, with the exception of Orphans’ Court, which will run virtually. If you were called for jury duty, you don’t need to report.
Snow Shoveling Responsibilities
If you live in a house or a small building, you’re responsible for clearing the sidewalk after snow falls. Sidewalks should be cleared within six hours after the snow stops, including ramps. You need to push the snow toward your building and not into the street.
Fines can go up to $1,000 for businesses or homeowners who fail to clear their sidewalks. You can report uncleared sidewalks through the city’s 311 portal.
