La Grange Family Health Center is gearing up for a big move. They’re leaving their current spot at 1253 N. Von Minden and relocating to the St. Mark’s Medical Office Building. The new location at 2 St. Mark’s Place – Suite 110 will open in spring 2026. This is exciting news for the La Grange and Giddings communities, as the larger space will enhance patient care and allow for future growth.
Dr. Thomas Borgstedte shared the team’s enthusiasm: “This new facility means more space and a well-known, professional environment for our patients. Plus, with the hospital reopening soon under new management, we’ll be able to offer even more services.”
The hospital, once called St. Mark’s Medical Center, closed in October 2023, but the medical office building has continued to provide care. Now, La Grange Family Health will play a key role in revitalizing this healthcare hub.
Dawn Blackwell, the CFO, expressed the need for more room, stating, “We’ve been at our current location for 19 years. It’s served us well, but we’re outgrowing it.” The new facility will almost double their space from about 2,500 square feet to roughly 5,000 square feet. Remarkably, they plan to move without major interruptions to patient services.
“We might close early on a Friday, but we’ll work through the weekend to make the switch,” Blackwell noted.
The St. Mark’s Medical Office Building aims to foster a collaborative healthcare environment. With La Grange Family Health Center joining them, it’s set to become a central point for healthcare in the area.
Paul Mason, co-owner of APEX Investment Group, highlighted the importance of such expansions: “It shows the community’s strength and the growing need for accessible medical services in Fayette County.”
Statistics show that many small towns face healthcare access challenges. According to a recent report from the National Rural Health Association, over 60 million people in the U.S. live in rural areas with limited access to medical services. This move by La Grange Family Health is a positive step towards addressing that issue.
Also, with the rise of telehealth and on-demand services, there’s a significant shift occurring in how healthcare is delivered. Users on platforms like Twitter and Facebook often express the need for more local healthcare options that are easily accessible.
