The WKU men’s golf team kicked off the Military City Collegiate in San Antonio, Texas. After the first round, they scored 310 (+22), landing in 12th place. They had made good progress in the second round before play stopped due to darkness. On Tuesday, they will finish up that round and move on to the final one.
Performance Highlights
Trevor Drew shone in the first round with a score of 74 (+2), placing him tied for 18th. He continued strong with a 76 (+4) in the second round, totaling 150 (+6).
Will Easterlin had a mixed day. He shot 78 (+6) in the first round but bounced back nicely in the second with a 71 (-1), ending the day with a team-leading score of 149 (+5).
Rafe Blankenship started with a 77 (+5) and matched it in the second round for a total of 154 (+10), tying for 42nd place. Gage Doyle improved from an 81 (+9) in the first round to a solid 73 (+1) in the second, also totaling 154 (+10).
Ethan Smith, competing individually, scored 79 (+7) in the first round and will complete the second round on Tuesday. Joseph Agee’s numbers were 81 (+9) and 76 (+4), bringing his total to 157 (+13).
