CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State faced off against Northern Kentucky in their last home game of the regular season, ending with a score of 81-70. With this loss, Cleveland State’s record stands at 10-20 overall and 6-13 in conference play.
Preist Ryan shined for the Vikings, achieving his second double-double of the season with 20 points and ten rebounds. Tre Beard also had a solid performance, scoring 14 points, while Chevalier Emery and Jaidon Lipscomb each added 12 points. Josiah Harris contributed five assists, and Beard recorded two steals.
Even though Cleveland State outperformed Northern Kentucky in bench points (34-13) and points in the paint (38-32), the first half was a challenge. The Norse controlled the game early, heading into halftime with a 42-24 lead. Beard led the Vikings during this period, managing nine points from three of four shooting.
The second half saw a turnaround, with the Vikings outscoring Northern Kentucky 46-39. However, it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Cleveland State will finish the regular season on Saturday, February 28, against Robert Morris.
