Georgia Highlands College (GHC) and Kennesaw State University (KSU) have teamed up to make student transfers smoother. They recently signed an agreement to expand their existing LINK partnership, which aims to create better pathways for students to continue their education without losing credits.
The agreement was signed by key leaders from both colleges during a special event at GHC. This collaboration builds on a previous partnership started in 2024 that focused on teacher education. Now, it covers a broader range of programs, allowing students to transition from associate to bachelor’s and even master’s degrees.
“This expansion creates easier pathways for GHC students to further their education at KSU, our largest transfer partner,” said GHC’s Provost Sarah Coakley. This means that students can transfer more credits and can finish their degrees faster.
GHC students can apply credits earned at KSU towards their associate degree. By aligning courses at GHC with KSU’s upper-division programs, students face fewer obstacles, making it easier to achieve their career goals.
This partnership highlights both institutions’ focus on student success and workforce development. KSU’s Provost Ivan Pulinkala stated, “By aligning our programs and collaborating closely, we are helping students move toward in-demand careers and bolstering Georgia’s economic growth.”

Another benefit of the LINK partnership is that GHC students can apply to KSU for free. Statistics show a trend in increased student transfer rates across institutions. According to a National Student Clearinghouse report, over 35% of college students transfer schools at least once in their academic journey.
