Fourth Annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Aid Etowah Community Food Bank

GADSDEN, AL – Gadsden Regional Medical Center is taking action against hunger by hosting the fourth annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive. From March 2nd to March 27th, the hospital will collect peanut butter for the Etowah Community Food Bank. This food item is often overlooked yet offers essential nutrition and a long shelf life.

“Every year, we prioritize giving back,” said Michael Hall, CEO. “About 17% of adults and over 22% of children in our community face hunger. Supporting the Etowah Community Food Bank is crucial for improving health in our area.”

This year, the goal is to gather 1,500 jars of peanut butter and nut butters. Donations can be made in person or online at bit.ly/GRMCJarsOfLove2026, where contributions will directly benefit the food bank.

Physical donations can be delivered to Will Mackey, Marketing Director, at the 500 Building of Gadsden Regional’s campus. Extra drop-off locations include the Cafeteria and Human Resources. Local businesses can request a pickup for convenience. Once the drive concludes on March 27th, all items will be handed over to the food bank for distribution throughout the county.

Hunger impacts not only well-being but also opportunity. According to recent studies, individuals facing food insecurity are more likely to experience chronic health issues and struggle with education. Programs like Jars of Love help build a stronger, healthier community.
