The Indian Railways is making travel more convenient. They’ve added a stop at Hazaribagh Road for the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express. This will help more passengers connect easily on their journeys.
The train is part of the East Central Railway and is known for its speed. It can cover the 536 kilometers between Ranchi and Varanasi in about 7 hours and 50 minutes, making it the quickest option available.
Starting March 2, 2026, the train will make stops at eight stations instead of seven. Besides Hazaribagh Road, it will also stop at Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Parasnath, Koderma, Gaya, Sasaram, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. This change reflects ongoing efforts by the Indian Railways to enhance travel options for passengers.

- Train No. 20887 Ranchi to Varanasi departs at 5:10 AM and arrives at 1:00 PM, stopping at Hazaribagh Road at 8:12 AM.
- Train No. 20888 Varanasi to Ranchi leaves at 4:05 PM and reaches Ranchi at 11:55 PM, stopping at Hazaribagh Road at 8:17 PM.
Ticket Prices
For those looking to book tickets, the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express offers two classes: AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. The fare for the AC Chair Car is Rs 1,470, while the Executive Chair Car costs Rs 2,695 for the journey from Varanasi to Ranchi.
