Georgia Swimming and Diving Wraps Up Season at Bulldog Invitational
The University of Georgia swimming and diving teams wrapped up their regular season at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet. Held at Bauerle Pool, the event showcased many impressive performances.
Noteworthy Highlights
Freshman Hayden Hollingsworth ended her first season on a high note. She clocked an impressive 52.37 in the 100-yard butterfly, securing a spot for the NCAA championships. Earlier, she also set a personal best in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.42. Junior Elizabeth Tilt wasn’t far behind, achieving her own season-best of 50.76 in the same event.
Another standout was freshman Mia Jeltema. She recorded season-best times in both her 100-yard breaststroke heats, starting at 2:14.20 and improving to 2:13.85 by the afternoon.
Sophomore Samantha Rydzewski wrapped things up with a season-best time of 1:55.85 in the 200-yard backstroke.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team, which included Tilt, freshman Marin Clem, and seniors Emma Norton and Ieva Maluka, finished strong with a time of 3:18.55.
What’s Next?
The Georgia swimming and diving teams are now gearing up for the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships. These will be held at Gabrielsen Natatorium from March 8 to March 11. The NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships kick off on March 18 in Atlanta, followed by the men’s championships starting on March 25.
