Latanya Grant, a 20-year-old cashier who has been with World Famous for two years, shared that the truck visits Gainesville every six to eight weeks. Enjoying the lively atmosphere, she loves meeting new people as they come through the line, excited to try their unique egg rolls.
“There’s a great vibe here,” Grant said, handing out a lemonade the size of a toddler’s head to a family. “Being on the move keeps things interesting.”
The marketing strategy behind World Famous is clever and engaging. They update their schedule and locations on social media multiple times a day, showcasing delicious images of their menu items that get people’s mouths watering. Jason Aguiar, a biology student at UF, discovered World Famous through Instagram. Enthralled by their creative combinations, he has tried something new each visit. His latest choice, the baked mac and cheese roll, is a mix of cavatappi pasta and cheddar jack cheese, all wrapped in a crispy egg roll. “It’s revolutionary,” he declared, savoring every bite.
A diverse mix of customers, from families to college students, flocked to try the unique offerings. First-timer Toni Gibbs traveled from Bronson, drawn in by the hype and ready to indulge in their hibachi and Southern soul food egg rolls, which feature ingredients like hibachi steak, chicken, and barbecue chicken.
World Famous has built a loyal following not only through its innovative food but also through social media buzz. According to a recent survey, 75% of young adults discover new food trends via platforms like Instagram and TikTok, highlighting the power of online marketing in today’s dining scene.
