Food Network hasn’t completely said goodbye to The Kitchen. The show’s stars shared some exciting news.
Even though The Kitchen ended in December 2025, the cast will reunite for a special episode. Jeff Mauro announced this on Katie Lee Biegel’s podcast, All On the Table. He mentioned, “We are filming a special episode, and it’ll be on the air.” Biegel confirmed it will likely air in March.
The Kitchen remains popular, as reruns continue to play on Food Network. Geoffrey Zakarian pointed out that different hosts have been featured in these rerun specials, saying they’ve kept viewers engaged. He added, “12 more weeks for Food Network to realize they’ve made a mistake,” referring to the show’s cancellation.
The cast members agree that letting the show go was a mistake. Mauro shared that fans frequently ask about the cancellation, saying, “It’s like canceling Jeopardy — nobody does that.” He emphasized that the show was a staple for viewers.
Biegel reflected on why the show didn’t get renewed. She attributed it to various factors beyond their control, such as contract issues and Warner Bros. Discovery’s broader business strategies. “It wasn’t about ratings or what fans wanted,” she explained, adding that she was touched by fans’ passion for the show.
The cast is thrilled about the upcoming special. They even traveled to Qatar for it, where Biegel humorously noted Zakarian showed up at the airport in a full seersucker suit.
According to a recent survey, 75% of fans expressed disappointment over the show’s cancellation. Many felt it was a beloved part of their weekend routine. This strong viewer connection showcases how impactful The Kitchen has been during its run.
