Rivera-Torres has been a standout player, starting all 31 games this season. He averages 15.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. His performance places him among the top 10 players in the CAA in several categories, including scoring, rebounding, and steals.
What’s particularly impressive is that Rivera-Torres has scored over 20 points in nine games, with a career-high of 30 points achieved against Hofstra. He has shown great skill at the foul line, making 10 or more free throws in three games this season. Additionally, his eight double-doubles highlight his capability to contribute in multiple ways on the court.
Defensively, he has been a powerhouse as well, recording at least one steal in 26 games, and achieving four or more steals in seven. His season-high assists came against Campbell, where he dished out six assists.
In terms of stats, Rivera-Torres has cemented his place in Monmouth’s history. His 491 points rank him 19th for a single season, while his 253 rebounds put him fourth in the school’s single-season records. His 62 steals are tied for seventh in the school’s history.
As the No. 4 seed in the CAA, Rivera-Torres and the Hawks are gearing up for their quarterfinal game against an awaiting opponent on Sunday, March 8, at 2:30 p.m.
