Bungie is changing how in-game currency works in Marathon, promising to increase the Lux you get for £8 ($10) from 1100 to 1120 soon.
Previously, players had to buy a combination of bundles to unlock special items, like a 1120 Lux Runner skin. The £8 bundle alone didn’t cut it, which frustrated many. As IGN reported, Bungie has heard this feedback and is responding quickly.
After a few days of launch, Bungie thanked players for their input, stating in a tweet: “We’ve been able to get some fixes out the door and are preparing a patch for next week.” They want players to feel like they are getting good value for their money.
If you already bought the £8 Lux bundle before the change, don’t worry! Bungie plans to credit players with an extra 20 Lux for each £8 bundle purchased. This means that even if it seems late, they’re trying to make it right.
Along with the currency adjustment, there are exciting updates coming in the next patch:
- Nav points will now appear from 20m away, instead of 10m.
- More Med Cabinets and Munitions Crates will spawn in the game.
- Players will start with more ammo in specific free kits.
In addition, Bungie has made Deluxe Edition items accessible to all who purchased that version. Players impacted during the initial launch will receive 150 Lux as compensation. Marathon has finally made its debut on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Early reviews indicate that it could be one of Bungie’s best games yet.
