Despite loving Blizzard and hoping to retire there, he realized it was time to move on. He noted that the CFO who imposed this pressure is no longer with the company, which gives him some relief.
In Overwatch 2’s latest update, Blizzard decided to drop the “2” from the title, calling it a “timeless game.” The game remains free-to-play, with exciting crossovers like one with NieR: Automata.
Currently, Kaplan is working on a new project called The Legend of California. This game will be an open-world survival shooter set in California during the gold rush era.
Interestingly, recent surveys show a strong following and interest in Overwatch, with nearly 50% of gamers still engaging with the franchise despite some controversies surrounding Blizzard.
