They are also setting up 100 5G Use Case Labs in academic institutions, allowing students and researchers to experiment with applications geared toward future 6G networks. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance skills and capabilities crucial for advancing technology in India.
Moreover, the initiative includes developing test beds for next-gen technologies like Terahertz (THz) communication, a cutting-edge area that could revolutionize data transfer speeds. By involving universities and research organizations, the government aims to accelerate the deployment of 6G technologies.
Experts believe that 6G can offer unprecedented speeds and better connectivity, potentially impacting various sectors from healthcare to transportation. According to a recent report by CCS Insight, 6G is expected to support up to 1 million devices per square kilometer, vastly improving IoT functionalities.
