Unlock Your Potential: Apply Now for Yuva Sangam Phase VI Youth Exchange Program!

The Indian Institute of Management Jammu is inviting young people to join Yuva Sangam – Phase VI, part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative by the Ministry of Education. This program aims to build connections among youth and celebrate India’s rich diversity through cultural and educational exchanges.

Launched under the Department of Higher Education, Yuva Sangam enables youth to visit different states and Union Territories. Participants will explore various cultural customs, development projects, and social dynamics, helping them understand and appreciate India’s rich tapestry.

This year, IIM Jammu and IIM Kozhikode are collaborating to offer immersive experiences in Kerala and the beautiful Lakshadweep Islands. Youth aged 18–30 from these regions are encouraged to apply. They’ll have the chance to dive into local cultures, witness development efforts, and foster connections across states.

Participants will enjoy 5–7 day tours, interacting with local communities and gaining firsthand insights into the unique cultural and developmental landscapes of the regions they visit.

The program is centered around five key themes:

  • Paryatan – Tourism
  • Parampara – Traditions and Culture
  • Pragati – Development and Governance
  • Paraspar Sampark – People-to-People Connect
  • Prodyogiki – Technology and Innovation

IIM Kozhikode also invites applications from youth in Kerala and Lakshadweep. They will participate in similar exposure visits to Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, enriching their understanding of these culturally rich areas.

Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal leads the program at IIM Jammu, supported by Prof. (Brigadier) (Retd) Neeraj Soni. Their goal is to promote experiential learning and cultural appreciation, in line with the National Education Policy 2020’s vision for youth engagement and nation-building.

Recent surveys show that programs like Yuva Sangam enhance intercultural understanding among participants. According to a report from the Ministry of Education, over 70% of youth who participated in similar initiatives felt more connected to their country’s diversity. As social media trends show, young people are increasingly sharing their experiences from cultural exchanges, illustrating the impact of such programs on building community and understanding.
