Anastos was known for reporting major events, from the tragic World Trade Center attacks to the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He gained recognition for his talent, winning over 30 Emmy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Emmy. His notable stories included the heartbreaking announcement of John Lennon’s death on December 8, 1980, an event many still recall vividly.
