Exciting changes are coming to the food scene in San Francisco! Fat Cat SF, a new wine bar by Jessica Bell, is setting up in the Mission District. Previously, she ran a pop-up at Fisch & Flore in the Castro. Now, she’s securing a permanent spot at 3215 Mission Street, near Valencia. Expect delicious bites from Claws of Mantis, a Vietnamese pop-up by chef Kevin Tang, starting in April.
Andytown Coffee Roasters is also expanding, soon to open a location in the Financial District at 66 Kearny Street. They haven’t set an opening date yet, but excitement is brewing. Ritual Coffee Roasters is joining the trend with their new spot at 255 California Street, previously home to Torrefazione Italia, though their launch date remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, Rize Up Bakery, known for its ube sourdough, is transforming its production facility at 1160 Howard Street into a cafe this summer. Owner Azikiwee Anderson plans to serve grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, soups, and coffee, allowing customers to choose their favorite bread. Whole loaves will be available for purchase, too.
Black Jet Bakery is on the move, bringing Black Jet Luncheonette to the Outer Sunset at Judah and 46th Avenue. This spot is set to open by June, offering favorites like their breakfast sandwich and coffee cake, along with a rotating sandwich menu.
In Union Square, b. patisserie might be closing its kiosk next year, with plans for a new tenant. A request for proposals was issued for a new café space, potentially leading to a lease starting in February 2027.
Lastly, good news for night market fans! Cole Valley Nights returns on March 19, and the Castro Night Market kicks off on March 20 after its hiatus. Local merchants and community support have driven this comeback, reflecting the growing love for night markets last year.
As trends shift, San Francisco diners can look forward to discovering fresh flavors and unique experiences in their neighborhoods. Stay tuned; the food landscape is ever-evolving!
