A KC-135 Stratotanker made an emergency landing in Israel after a mission in Iraq. This aircraft is connected to Beale Air Force Base near Marysville. Unfortunately, another tanker crashed in Iraq during the same mission, resulting in the loss of six U.S. service members.
The U.S. Central Command confirmed that the KC-135 went down in western Iraq while operating under friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury. Investigators noted that the crash wasn’t caused by enemy fire.
