Join Us for an Exciting February Science Saturday at Kenyon College!

GAMBIER — This February, middle school students in grades 6-8 can dive into a fun, hands-on science experience at Kenyon College during Science Saturday.

This spring, the theme is “Light, Lasers, ‘Lectricity.” Students will enjoy exciting activities like making flashlights, playing with circuits, and discovering the amazing properties of light. It’s a great way to learn while having a blast with friends.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kenyon’s Science Quadrangle, located at 201 N. College Road. Registration is first-come, first-served and will remain open until Feb. 10 or until all spots are filled. For more details and to register, check out kenyon.edu/community-programming.

Best of all, it’s free! Students will receive lunch and snacks during the program. The sessions are packed with different hands-on experiments, along with a break for snacks.

After lunch, participants will join a larger group session featuring demonstrations and a chance to ask questions in an “Ask-a-Scientist” segment with a real scientist. This is a unique chance for students to see science in action and engage with professionals in the field.

Science Saturday aims to connect students with the excitement of science. It introduces them to scientists at various stages of their careers and opens the door to scientific fields and experiments that are often not available in middle or high school classes.

If you have any questions about the program, reach out to Kenyon’s Office for Community Partnerships at communityinfo@kenyon.edu or call 740-427-5419.
