Empowering Youth: Punjab CM Introduces Climate Leadership Internship Program

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, recently launched the Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Programme. This initiative offers young people a chance to make a difference in environmental protection while gaining valuable experience.

Selected interns will earn a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 and receive a UNESCO-backed certification at the end of the three-month internship. To encourage gender equality, half of the spots are reserved for women. Interns will work closely with the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency, gaining firsthand experience in environmental governance.

Young applicants can submit their applications online until March 29. This program aims to inspire the youth to take an active role in tackling climate issues. CM Nawaz believes everyone’s contribution counts in the fight for a cleaner environment.

In addition, on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, CM Nawaz called for global unity among Muslim countries. She highlighted that Islamophobia leads to the unfair treatment of Muslims, urging the need for a collective effort to address this challenge. She pointed out that individuals in Palestine and Kashmir are particularly affected.

By promoting the values of peace and tolerance, she believes that the Muslim community can combat Islamophobia effectively. Strengthening these values, along with mutual respect, is essential for fostering global understanding.

Maryam Nawaz’s initiatives reflect a commitment to both environmental sustainability and social justice, showcasing how leadership can inspire positive change.
