Motto by Hilton is set to make its debut in Sydney’s CBD in 2027, introducing a new lifestyle brand to Australia. This move is part of a broader expansion across the Asia Pacific region.
Located in the former Bank of China headquarters, the Sydney hotel will feature 152 uniquely designed rooms. These include standard rooms, bunk rooms, flex rooms, accessible rooms, and suites, catering to a variety of guests. Families and small groups can enjoy interconnecting rooms, making it versatile for different needs.
Tushar Raniga, Hilton’s Director of Development Australasia, emphasized the hotel’s prime location. Guests will be right in the middle of Sydney’s vibrant food scene, offering easy access to the city’s best experiences. He stated, “Motto by Hilton is redefining the city stay, bringing a fresh, dynamic approach to hospitality.”
The expansion of Motto by Hilton in Australia is part of a larger strategy. Currently, there are ten Motto properties in urban centers around the globe, with plans for 23 more. This growth aligns with the brand’s goal to infuse dynamic energy into local neighborhoods.
Tal Shefer, Hilton’s Senior Vice President of Brand Management for Asia Pacific, described the hotel’s design. He mentioned that the spaces at Motto are flexible and user-friendly, allowing guests and locals to interact comfortably. The hotel will feature communal areas perfect for remote work and socializing, alongside innovative food and beverage options and a rooftop bar.
In collaboration with Invictus Developments, the project aims to transform the space into a vibrant urban lifestyle hotel. Chayadi Karim, Principal at Invictus, highlighted the significance of this partnership as a milestone for their portfolio and a testament to their expertise in property conversion.
Recent trends show that urban lifestyle hotels are becoming increasingly popular, thanks to their focus on social spaces and local culture. According to a recent survey by the American Hotel and Lodging Association, 76% of travelers now prefer hotels that provide unique experiences over standardized options. This trend bodes well for Motto by Hilton, as it positions itself to meet the evolving desires of modern travelers.
As Motto by Hilton prepares for its Sydney launch, it promises to blend chic design with local charm, providing a new hub for both visitors and locals.
