Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow buzzed with activity as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) kicked off their training camp for IPL 2026. The team’s captain, Rishabh Pant, and star bowler, Mohammed Shami, are scheduled to join the squad soon after arriving in Lucknow.
During Monday’s session, several young talents stood out. Batters Akshat Raghuvanshi, Abdul Samad, and Himmat Singh showcased impressive skills, while all-rounders Ayush Badoni, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Arshin Kulkarni also caught the eye. The pace trio of Arjun Tendulkar, Mayank Yadav, and Avesh Khan received high praise from coaches for their speed and precision.
Tom Moody, the Global Cricket Director, and head coach Justin Langer are guiding the team, supported by assistant coaches Lance Klusener and Bharat Arun.
Before this camp, LSG held a pre-season training session in Chennai at the Coaching Beyond Academy ground. They will launch their IPL 2026 campaign against the Delhi Capitals on April 1 at their home stadium.
A new ticketing system will enhance the game-day experience. Fans can now use digital tickets on their smartphones, scanning M-tickets sent directly to their registered mobile numbers at the stadium gates.
Since their debut in 2022, LSG has made the playoffs in both 2022 and 2023, though they finished seventh in 2024 and 2025. Interestingly, LSG remains the only team to have never reached an IPL final.
As the league evolves, it will be fascinating to see how this young team performs and if they can break their finals streak. With a fresh lineup and dedicated coaching staff, the excitement for IPL 2026 is palpable.
