The agency reported winds reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour, which have been altering travel conditions rapidly. The special weather warning affects areas from Ottawa to London.
While the flurries from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay won’t lead to major snowfall in the GTA, they will temporarily lower visibility.
However, it’s a different story north of Toronto. Areas like Collingwood, Barrie, and Orillia face snow squall warnings. These places could see heavy, blowing snow with visibility challenges and accumulation of up to 15 centimeters.
Moreover, the agency noted the risk of local power outages and cautioned that gusty winds could knock down loose items or branches. Commuters should stay alert for any sudden changes in road conditions.
