Exciting Update: Nintendo Expands Switch 2’s GameCube Game Library This Week!

Last month, The Pokémon Company made a big announcement during Pokémon Day. They revealed that the classic GameCube game, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, is coming to Switch 2 in March. Players with a Switch Online + Expansion Pack can now enjoy this game.

This title continues the story from Pokémon Colosseum. The game features a plot where Shadow Pokémon are part of an evil plan for world domination. Players team up with Eevee and friends to battle foes and save the day by purifying Shadow Pokémon.

Nintendo also mentioned that players can’t transfer Pokémon from Game Boy Advance titles to this new release.

Notably, during Pokémon Day, they also surprised fans with the return of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Game Boy Advance. Several other Pokémon titles are now available in the Switch Online’s Nintendo Classics library.

In addition to Colosseum, Super Mario Sunshine fans are eagerly waiting for its addition to the GameCube lineup on Switch 2.

Pokémon games have a rich history, with Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness initially released in 2005. It was praised for its engaging story and gameplay. As of 2023, the gaming community is buzzing with nostalgia, with many players sharing their excitement on social media platforms. Twitter is filled with reactions, where fans reminisce about their experiences playing the original game.

Interestingly, gaming statistics show that interest in nostalgic games is on the rise. A survey revealed that 60% of gamers enjoy revisiting titles from their childhood. This trend highlights how much people value their gaming past.
