COLONIA, N.J. – Exciting news from the ECC league! Senior Olivia Hillman has been named ECC Bowler of the Year, making history as the first player from the Bulldogs to earn this title. Alongside her, Coach Morgan Walsh has been honored as ECC Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.
Hillman also made the All-Conference First Team, joining senior Laura Clark and junior Madison Damer. Freshman Madison Lewis received a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.
Highlights of Olivia Hillman:
- A remarkable achievement since she is the first from her program to win this title.
- She has now been honored as an All-ECC player twice, moving up from the Second Team last year to the First Team this year.
- Hillman shone in both traditional and baker formats, averaging 20.03 and 20.84 points per frame, respectively.
Laura Clark’s Achievements:
- Clark has made the First Team All-ECC for three consecutive years.
- She ranks second on the team in traditional format with an average of 19.41 points per frame.
Madison Damer’s Journey:
- Damer received All-ECC honors for the first time. She scored an impressive 19.35 points per frame in baker format.
Freshman Standout Madison Lewis:
- In her rookie season, Lewis scored an average of 18.96 points in traditional format and 18.90 in baker, earning All-ECC honors.
Coach Morgan Walsh’s Success:
- Walsh led the Bulldogs to a record-breaking 55-32 season, marking their first-ever ECC regular-season championship.
- The team also achieved national recognition, reaching their highest ranking at No. 18 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association poll.
This weekend, the Bulldogs are aiming for their first ECC conference championship, competing at Bowler City Lanes in Hackensack, NJ.
The performance of these athletes highlights not just individual talent but also the growth of the program. Over the past few decades, women’s bowling has gained prominence, and more schools are recognizing and nurturing talent in the sport. This trend could pave the way for future generations of bowlers.
