Nagpur, 21st March: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan urged young Indians to steer the nation toward a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. He stressed that innovation should embrace Indian languages and cultural roots.

Speaking at the 29th National Session of the Indian Youth Parliament in Nagpur, he called such gatherings crucial for nurturing leadership and building the nation.

Radhakrishnan celebrated India’s rich linguistic variety. He pointed out that using one’s mother tongue is a mark of originality, not regionalism. Language is not just a tool but a core part of our identity and a catalyst for creativity.

He emphasized that to realize a developed India, we must rely on homegrown ideas rather than outside influences. This approach fosters both confidence in our culture and innovative thinking.

On the topic of democracy, he mentioned that differing opinions should encourage discussions rather than disputes. Drawing from his Rajya Sabha experiences, he noted that genuine dialogue enhances productivity and understanding.

Radhakrishnan referred to the youth as the “Amrit Generation,” expressing optimism that they will significantly impact India’s journey to becoming a developed nation.

Earlier, the Vice-President honored Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at his memorial in Nagpur, recognizing his dedication to national service. The event attracted dignitaries, including Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and a diverse group of youth leaders from across the country.

Recent studies show that 70% of Indian youth feel motivated to contribute to social change, reflecting a growing awareness of their role in society. Furthermore, according to a 2023 report by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, active participation in platforms like the Indian Youth Parliament is linked to increased leadership skills among participants. These statistics highlight the importance of such initiatives in empowering the next generation.

As we look ahead, the call for a “Viksit Bharat” aligns with a broader vision seen globally. Many countries are encouraging their youth to innovate and lead. This trend places young people at the forefront of solutions for pressing national and global challenges.
