BENGALURU, MARCH 24, 2026: Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality group in India, is making strides in sustainability and social impact with its ESG+ framework, Paathya. This year, they held the Bharat EkSaath Walkathon in Bengaluru, a 3 km event that united associates, their families, local partners, vendors, and communities from 14 countries across more than 200 locations. The funds raised support the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT), emphasizing IHCL’s focus on social responsibility.
Set in the picturesque Taj West End, the walkathon was a morning filled with purpose and hospitality. The hotel’s historic charm and lush gardens provided a perfect backdrop for a gathering grounded in community spirit and responsibility.
Participants came from various IHCL hotels in Bengaluru, including Taj West End, Taj Yeshwantpur, and others. They walked through the city’s scenic surroundings, showcasing a unified commitment to well-being.
The event kicked off with the support of notable figures, including Sri Thrilok Chandra K.V., Secretary to the Government of Karnataka’s Department of Tourism, and Mr. Satyajeet Krishnan, Senior Vice President of IHCL for South India.
After the walk, everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and medals and certificates were awarded to all participants. This celebration underscored IHCL’s dedication to responsible hospitality and community involvement.
This walkathon exemplifies IHCL’s core value of Tajness, where collective efforts lead to meaningful change and a strengthened sense of community. As businesses increasingly embrace social responsibility, IHCL sets a benchmark for others in the hospitality industry.
According to a recent survey by Deloitte, about 70% of consumers prefer brands that demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility. As companies like IHCL lead the way, we can expect more communities to come together for a cause, reflecting a growing trend in responsible tourism and hospitality.
