Congrats to Our Four Academic All-District Bobcats: Celebrating Excellence in Women’s Basketball at CSC!

Four Bobcat Women Excel in Academics and Athletics

On March 24, 2026, four players from the Bobcat women’s basketball team received special recognition for their hard work in both sports and studies. Junior Ella Johnson and sophomores Taylee Chirrick, Teagan Erickson, and Addison Harris were named to the CSC Academic All-District team.

To qualify, a player must have appeared in nearly all games or started most of them while maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher. This honor highlights the commitment these athletes have to both their game and their education.

Chirrick stands out not just for her academic achievements; she’s also making waves on the court. She was named the Big Sky Most Valuable Player, becoming only the second player in league history to earn both MVP and Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year in one season. With an impressive average of 4.24 steals per game, she ranks second in Division I. She also scores an average of 17.7 points per game, placing her second in the Big Sky.

Johnson, from Elk River, Minnesota, contributes with 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. She leads her team with 42 blocked shots, showcasing her defensive skills. Erickson adds 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds to the team’s success. Harris, a First Team All-Big Sky selection, scores 13.8 points and grabs 4.0 rebounds per game.

Looking ahead, the names of the 2025-26 Academic All-America teams will be announced on April 15, 2026.

It’s inspiring to see athletes balancing their academic responsibilities with the demands of high-level sports. As more student-athletes follow this path, we may see an increase in future leaders both on and off the court.
