MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Aryna Sabalenka triumphed over Coco Gauff in the Miami Open final, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. This victory made Sabalenka the first player since Iga Swiatek in 2022 to achieve the “Sunshine Double,” winning both Indian Wells and Miami in the same season.
This title marks Sabalenka’s second consecutive win at the Miami Open, putting her ahead in their head-to-head record at 7-6. During the trophy presentation, Sabalenka praised Gauff, saying, “You’ve pushed me to be a better player.” She also acknowledged the crowd for their incredible support, noting, “You always bring a full stadium.”
