HONOLULU – The UC Santa Barbara Men’s Volleyball team faced off against Hawai’i in their weekend series but ended up losing 3-0 on Saturday night.

Match Summary:

In the first set, Hawai’i jumped to an early lead, going up 9-6 and eventually closing the set at 25-16. In the second set, the Gauchos put up a fight, trailing 9-3 but then rallying to bring the score to 25-22. Despite a strong comeback, they couldn’t secure the win.

Hawai’i showcased their dominance in the third set, winning 25-13. After an early tie at 7-7, they pulled ahead and kept control.

Ethan Saint led the Gauchos with 10 kills and a .350 hitting percentage. George Bruening contributed with nine kills and six digs, while Cole Schobel added five digs and 26 assists. Josh Aruya excelled too, hitting .625 with five kills and two block assists.
