CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State topped Mercer 3-1 on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep. This win improves the Beavers’ record to 21-5 and marks their seventh straight victory.
The game shifted in the seventh inning. Oregon State loaded the bases with a single from Easton Talt and two walks from Adam Haight and Bryce Hubbard. Josh Proctor’s sacrifice fly sent Talt home from third base, putting the Beavers ahead. A wild pitch later allowed Haight to score, sealing the team’s offensive push.
The pitching staff of Oregon State held Mercer scoreless for the final two innings. Isaac Yeager, stepping in for starter Eric Segura in the sixth, earned his fourth win of the season. He struck out six batters in just over two innings. Wyatt Queen and Albert Roblez closed out the game well, with Roblez securing his ninth save.
Segura pitched well, striking out seven batters while allowing only one run and five hits over 5.1 innings.
