Burries averages about 17.8 points, while Peat follows closely with 17.5. This is Arizona’s first Final Four appearance since 2001.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Finishing second in the Big Ten, the Illini have been impressive throughout the tournament. They started strong with wins of 35 and 21 points, then defeated No. 2 Houston and No. 9 Iowa. Freshman guard Keaton Wagler has been crucial, averaging 17.5 points and shooting 44% from three-point range. This will be Illinois’ first Final Four since 2005, where they lost to North Carolina in the championship.
Michigan Wolverines
Michigan topped the Big Ten this year and advanced with a striking 95-62 victory over Tennessee. They have depth in their lineup, with several players contributing significantly. Senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg has stepped up, averaging 25 points and 8.3 rebounds in the tournament. The Wolverines last reached the Final Four in 2018.
Connecticut Huskies
The Huskies have made it through some thrilling matches, including a remarkable comeback against Duke, overcoming a 19-point deficit to win 73-72. They boast a well-rounded team with five players scoring in double figures. Senior center Tarris Reed Jr. has been outstanding, with performances like a 31-point game against Furman. Connecticut has a recent championship legacy, winning titles in 2023 and 2024.
