Srinagar, Mar 30: The “One Million Trees for Pir Panjal” initiative kicked off with great enthusiasm and unity. This effort is more than just a tree-planting campaign; it’s a movement aimed at restoring the delicate ecosystems of the Pir Panjal range.
The initiative was launched by climate justice activist Dr. Shaikh Ghulam Rasool, founder of the School for Rural Development and Environment (SRDE). The first phase of the project began with a significant planting event in the Shukhnag Forest Range of Budgam. The goal? Plant one million trees throughout the Pir Panjal area.
