UCF is celebrating 56 outstanding students this Wednesday at Founders’ Day. These students excel in scholarship, leadership, and community service across various fields. They are not just academically accomplished but also active contributors to their communities.
Many honorees have received national and international scholarships, conducted research, and participated in sports and campus organizations like Student Government. The group includes transfer students, first-generation college students, and members of the Burnett Honors College.
In addition to their studies, these students dedicate time to volunteer work at hospitals, schools, and community organizations. They often lead initiatives to support local needs.
John Buckwalter, UCF’s provost, praised these students for shaping their university experience and helping others along the way. He noted, “When you look at this group, you see trajectory.” This reflects the broader impact they have on their families and communities.
This year, 37 students will be honored with the Order of Pegasus, UCF’s most prestigious student award. The average GPA of this class is an impressive 3.912, showcasing their academic dedication.
The celebration takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Student Union’s Pegasus Ballroom, welcoming the campus community to join in recognizing these achievers.
