Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University Softball is set to face Hofstra in an afternoon game at Bahoshy Field. Originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Long Island, the game has been moved to a 2:00 p.m. start due to weather conditions and ongoing field renovations at Hofstra.

Fordham’s record stands at 13-17, with a 6-6 mark in conference play. They’ve just clinched their second consecutive series victory against George Washington, taking two out of three games. Meanwhile, Hofstra, boasting an 18-14 record and an impressive 11-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association, is on a five-game winning streak. They recently dominated Drexel and swept a doubleheader against Saint Peter’s, outscoring those rivals 50-13.

Player Highlights

Neleh Nogay is making waves this season. She ranks second in the Atlantic 10 Conference and 21st in the nation with 20 stolen bases. She holds the Fordham record for career steals, having surpassed the previous record of 85 earlier this season. On March 25, she became one of only six active Division I players to achieve 100 career steals, a significant milestone in her career.

On the defensive side, Fordham is strong, sitting second in the A-10 for double plays, with 16 on the season. They rank 27th nationally, averaging 0.53 double plays per game, a noteworthy statistic among Division I teams. Their fielding percentage of .971 places them second in the league and 31st in the country, showing their commitment to defense.

Olivia Simcoe leads the team with eight complete games, a stat that puts her at the top in the A-10 and 44th among all Division I pitchers. Elizabeth Gaisior is also a key player, ranking fourth in the conference with five complete games.
