TAV Operation Services, part of TAV Airports and Groupe ADP, has introduced a new Primeclass lounge at Sofia Airport. This lounge aims to change the way we think about airport spaces by creating a welcoming environment that meets various needs.
Referred to as a “Haven on Earth,” the lounge offers five distinct areas: Live, Enjoy, Work, Relax, and Play. This setup allows travelers to choose the type of experience they want, whether it’s socializing, working, or just unwinding. It includes a bar, dining areas, dedicated workspaces, a play area for kids, a nap room, and an outdoor terrace.
Aude Ferrand, TAV Airports’ Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted Sofia’s growth as an aviation hub. “This is just the start,” she mentioned, hinting at plans to replicate the lounge concept in other locations around the world.
The lounge also embraces local culture with a Local Artist Wall that features art from Bulgarian artists like Stela Vasileva and Alexander Valchev. The food menu combines Bulgarian dishes with international flavors, providing a unique culinary experience for visitors.
Jesús Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect, expressed excitement about this partnership. He stated, “This opening is a big step in enhancing the traveler experience.”
Studies show that creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces in airports can significantly reduce travel-related stress. According to a recent survey by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), 61% of travelers prefer airports that offer amenities like lounges, which cater to relaxation and comfort.
In today’s world, where travelers seek more than just a basic waiting area, the Primeclass lounge concept could set a new standard for airport lounges globally. By blending local character with global consistency, it aims to enhance the overall travel experience.
