Jazeera Airways is making big moves by expanding its network in India to 14 destinations. Newly added cities include Kozhikode, Tiruchirappalli, Mangalore, Kannur, Vijayawada, and Lucknow. This growth is vital for the Indian community living in Kuwait, making it easier for them to travel home.
Currently, all flights operate through King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and Qaisumah Airport in Saudi Arabia. This shift happened because Kuwait International Airport is closed due to damage from drone and missile strikes. The airline moved to Saudi Arabia to keep passenger and cargo services running smoothly.
Since March 20, Jazeera Airways has transported over 11,000 passengers as part of Project Vande Bharat. They’ve also helped maintain cargo and supply chains between Kuwait and India. The Indian Business and Professionals Council in Kuwait has praised these efforts, noting how important they are during these challenging times.
Jazeera’s expanded network connects both South and North India, giving expatriates easy access to their home regions. The airline’s strategy is focused on markets with high demand, ensuring they stay resilient in changing situations.
Experts in the airline industry have observed that Jazeera’s dual-base system in Saudi Arabia combines air and ground transport, allowing operations to continue despite the airport closure in Kuwait. This approach positions Jazeera Airways as a key player between Kuwait and India.
