Exclusive Sneak Peek: ‘Jumanji 3’ Title Revealed and Exciting First Look Unveiled at CinemaCon!

Jumanji 3 Gets a Title and a New Twist

The next Jumanji movie has been titled Jumanji: Open World. The announcement came from stars Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, and Jack Black during Sony’s CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, where they also unveiled the trailer.

The trailer begins with a computer repairman, played by Lamorne Morris, who discovers an old video game console in a home. Strange clouds gather outside, and soon, ostriches roam the streets, hinting that Jumanji is breaking into the real world.

We then see Spencer, played by Alex Wolff, hanging out with his friends and his grandfather, Danny DeVito. Here, they meet Dwayne Johnson’s character, Dr. Bravestone, who speaks in a Spanish accent for some unknown reason. The Jumanji avatars of Hart, Black, and Karen Gillan also make an appearance, but not as themselves; they appear in a “demo mode,” suggesting that they’re glitches of sorts.

“I think we’re not in Jumanji anymore,” Black’s avatar quips. This leads the teen heroes back into the game, where they must save both Jumanji and their world.

This film is the third in Sony’s modern take on the Jumanji series, following Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). Together, these films have made a huge impact, with Welcome to the Jungle earning over $962 million globally.

For context, the original Jumanji film released in 1995, starred Robin Williams and became a classic. It introduced the tale of a board game that brings jungle dangers to life.

Johnson hinted at an Easter egg in the new film: “one half of the original dice from the original Jumanji.” This nod to the earlier film is a great way to honor its legacy.

Hart and Black shared some light-hearted banter, with Hart joking about how much of a “mess” Johnson could be on set. Black mentioned he enjoyed this filming the most, calling it “wild” and full of surprises. Hart teased that the game rules in Open World will be different, with all four lead actors playing multiple versions of their characters.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, with a script by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, Jumanji: Open World will hit theaters on Christmas Day. The cast includes Rhys Darby and Nick Jonas, adding more excitement to this highly anticipated release.

As audiences eagerly await the film, social media buzz continues to grow. Fans are discussing their favorite moments from the previous films and speculating about what twists this installment might bring.

In conclusion, Jumanji: Open World promises to blend nostalgia with fresh adventure, ensuring a fun ride for both new viewers and longtime fans.
