Maggie Barnes and Brett Stolnick, two familiar faces in the lifestyle TV world, have started a new venture called Garden Slate Productions. This company is now home to popular shows like Food Network’s “The Kitchen” and HGTV’s “The High Low Project.”

Before launching Garden Slate, Barnes and Stolnick worked together at BSTV Entertainment, a company they acquired from producer Beth Burke. At BSTV, they produced various shows, including “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” and “Big Restaurant Bet.” They also created branded content for well-known brands like Walt Disney World Resorts and Target.
In their new roles, Barnes is co-owner and executive producer at Garden Slate, while Stolnick takes on the role of co-owner and head of production. Christine Stirrat, another seasoned veteran in the industry, has joined them as the VP of development. Stirrat has a rich background, having worked on shows for Food Network, HGTV, Bravo, and more.
Barnes and Stolnick expressed their excitement about the launch, especially with “The Kitchen” set to enter its 39th season. They emphasized their commitment to unscripted programming that is both innovative and enjoyable. Both producers are passionate about storytelling and are eager to connect with new audiences.
Before their time at BSTV, Barnes produced the daytime food show “The Chew” and worked on “The Rachael Ray Show.” Stolnick has an impressive resume too, having been a production executive on popular shows like “The Colbert Report” and “Pawn Stars.”
