The Tribeca Festival is gearing up for a spectacular 2026 edition, celebrating its 25th anniversary. This year’s lineup is buzzing with excitement, featuring some highly anticipated films and engaging events.
One standout is “Happy Hours,” directed by Katie Holmes and starring Joshua Jackson, making its world premiere. There’s also the film “The Accompanist,” featuring Susan Sarandon and Aubrey Plaza, along with “The Revisionist,” starring Alison Brie and Dustin Hoffman. Another notable title is “Only What We Carry,” which includes performances by Sofia Boutella and Quentin Tarantino.
The festival will close with the documentary “Girl From Hell’s Kitchen,” focusing on Alicia Keys. For fans of nostalgia, there’s a special celebration for the 30th anniversary of “Boy Meets World,” featuring a live performance of the rewatch podcast with cast members like Rider Strong and Danielle Fishel.
This year’s lineup also boasts a variety of films, including “The Last Day” with Alicia Vikander and “Rain Reign” starring Paul Rudd. Viewers can expect to see documentaries like “Good Grief,” featuring Sara Bareilles, and “Mario,” about former New York Governor Mario Cuomo. A unique offering includes “Playing POTUS,” which explores presidential impressions.
Expect live performances from artists like Peter Frampton and Mumford & Sons, adding another layer to the festival experience. Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of the Tribeca Festival, emphasizes its mission: to unite people through storytelling, especially in today’s divided world. “The same spirit that rebuilt our city after 9/11 now fuels a new generation of artists and storytellers,” she shared.
This year, the festival features 118 feature films, the most in its history, with 103 making their debuts. Notably, nearly half of the films in competition are directed by women, and 50% are from BIPOC filmmakers.
The short film segment is equally robust, showcasing 86 titles, including 45 world premieres across various genres. All these elements make the Tribeca Festival an exciting cultural event that promises to engage audiences and spark conversations.
