It also gained new image-generation skills, useful for creating concepts, mockups, and other materials. Plus, OpenAI unveiled 111 plug-in integrations with popular apps like CodeRabbit and GitLab Issues, allowing Codex to tackle tasks related to these tools.
These plug-ins aim to simplify your work life. For instance, Codex can now check your Slack messages and Google Calendar to create a to-do list for you.
OpenAI has also introduced a new pay-as-you-go pricing option for its enterprise clients, offering greater flexibility in using Codex.
As OpenAI works to reclaim its status as an industry leader, it faces competition from Anthropic, especially in enterprise solutions. Recent months have also seen OpenAI navigating controversies, including lawsuits regarding ChatGPT’s impact on mental health.
In a recent survey, 67% of tech professionals expressed a preference for tools that integrate seamlessly into their daily workflows. It seems that both OpenAI and Anthropic are striving to meet this demand in the fast-growing AI coding space.
