Burtonsville’s Exciting Spring Food Festival
This spring, Burtonsville is set to launch a vibrant new food festival. The inaugural Taste of Burtonsville is happening on Saturday, April 25, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center, 14906 Old Columbia Pike.
This event is a community collaboration between the Montgomery County East County Regional Services Center and the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce. It will feature a diverse range of cuisine from eight local restaurants, showcasing flavors from both international and American traditions. Attendees can enjoy tasty bites while listening to live music from local acts like JoGo Project and Officer PJ on saxophone.
The festival also promises fun for families, with activities specifically for kids. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, but children under 12 can join in for free. Each ticket includes entry, food samples, access to the kids’ zone, and fantastic entertainment.
Events like these not only highlight local cuisine but also bring the community together. According to a recent study by the National Restaurant Association, community food events can boost local economies and support small businesses. Engaging in such gatherings creates a sense of belonging, making neighborhoods stronger.
So, if you’re in the area, mark that date on your calendar! It’s an opportunity to taste delicious food, enjoy live music, and make lasting memories with family and friends.
