This achievement beat the human record of 57 minutes and 20 seconds, set by Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplimo.

The standout robot, developed by Chinese smartphone giant Honor, drew inspiration from elite athletes. It features long legs—about 37 inches (95 centimeters) tall—and even has a specialized cooling system, similar to technology used in consumer electronics. Du Xiaodi, an engineer at Honor, highlighted that this innovation could have broader industrial uses.

This year’s competition included 300 robots from around 100 teams, all utilizing Honor’s “Lightning” model. The improvements are remarkable; just last year, the fastest robot took 2 hours and 40 minutes to finish the same course.
