LOS ANGELES (AP) — Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, pleaded not guilty Monday to murder charges linked to the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her dismembered and decayed body was discovered in his abandoned Tesla, sparking an investigation into a case filled with unsettling details.
Authorities allege that Burke killed Rivas Hernandez to protect his budding music career after she threatened to report their sexual relationship. Her disappearance occurred in early 2024, just as Burke was gaining recognition with his debut album, “Withered.” Allegations suggest he engaged in ongoing sexual abuse of her for about a year.
The charges against Burke include first-degree murder, lewd acts with a minor, and mutilation of a body.
