Heuermann’s arrest in 2023 linked him to the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, and Amber Costello, 27, all part of a group known as the “Gilgo Four.” These women went missing between 2009 and 2010, and their bodies were found in the same area in 2010.
In 2024, he faced charges for the murder of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, making him responsible for all four individuals in this group. He later faced charges for three more victims whose remains were found along the beach parkway: Jessica Taylor (20), Sandra Costilla (28), and Valerie Mack (24).
